Three-Headed Dragon, circa Nineteen Twenties
Born in 1899 in Kharkov, Boris Artzybasheff was a Russian-American illustrator recognized for his distinctive and sometimes surreal designs.
His illustration profession kicked off in 1922 with works for “Verotchka’s Tales” and “The Undertaker’s Garland,” resulting in quite a few different e book illustrations all through the Nineteen Twenties. All through his profession, he illustrated round 50 books, together with some he authored, with “As I See” being among the many most notable.

Artzybasheff gained appreciable recognition for his journal illustrations, particularly in main American publications like Life, Fortune, and Time, creating 219 Time journal covers between 1942 and 1966. These covers featured notable personalities akin to Dmitri Shostakovich, Louis Armstrong, and Dave Brubeck.
